Virginia Loggers Association
The Virginia Loggers Association, Inc. (VLA) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to education, training and promoting a better understanding of the Forest Products Industry to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The Virginia Loggers Association, Inc. proudly endorses Forestry Mutual Insurance Company as the preferred provider for Virginia workers’ compensation coverage.
Objectives:
- Our main objective is to provide an information network for Timber Harvesting Professionals and to be a voice for the Timber Harvesting Industry in Virginia.
- To improve the image of the Timber Harvesting Industry.
- To improve workers safety in the Timber Harvesting Industry.
- To improve and expand the use and quality of professional logging practices responsive to the needs of customers, employees, landowners and the general public.
- To provide, promote, and facilitate Educational Training for members within the Timber Harvesting profession.
- To support Log a Load for Kids.
Board of Directors:
The state is divided into 5 districts. No more than 3 members from each district will serve on the Board of Directors for a term of 3 years. All officers, directors, and officials must be members in good standing of the VLA.

Southside Logger's and Legislator's Lunch
On November 29th, a group of VLA members and supporters met with members of the Virginia General Assembly and their staff for lunch and a discussion of the timber industry in Virginia, with particular emphasis on the harvesting side. The
VLA Blacksburg Meeting Aug 26 - 27
The Virginia Loggers Association 8th Annual Meeting was held in Blacksburg, Virginia on August 26th and 27th. The function took place between the 5.8 magnitude earthquake and hurricane Irene but the attendance was still very good. The Virginia Tech College
